12 Volt Car Heater

Marilyn from Wisconsin writes: Dr. Lawrence, my husband and I have a 45 minute commute to get to work each day. He is not very sensitive to cold and I am extremely cold natured. In the wintertime I get so bundled up to ride in the car, I can hardly move. And I still burn him up with the heater. He’s very understanding about it, but I know he is uncomfortable. Can you help?

In fact, although we don't have your long commute, when we ride together in a car, my wife Burma requires much moe heat than I do. Women, for the most part, are more sensitive to cold than men. That may seem incongruous because women, by nature, have a more pronounced fat layer under the skin. Common belief today is that the male hormones make men more cold tolerant.
