Faith, Hope and Promise

These three filly's were confiscated by the Tampa Bay ASPCA due to neglect and starvation.  They were returned to the BLM and are being cared for by our rescue.  Thank you to all the wonderful people who helped give these beautiful horses a better life!

MS MARA
Ms. Mara is a 12 year old Mustang mare who came to us on March 17, 2007. Ms. Mara had an untreated facial injury for over three weeks.  She was split open from eye to eye.  A large piece of skin, from the gash, folded under itself which turned into proud flesh and was still oozing blood.  She suffered from
severe head trauma, starvation, and mental abuse. With a Vet's and Diane's care she is now being gentled.  She loves being groomed and does not shy from human touch.  She has an amazing spirit that touches not only us but the other horses.

Ms. Mara is currently being sponsored at WHR so that her road to recovery can continue.

CONNIE
Connie Wells is a 12 year old Mustang mare who arrived, along with Ms. Mara, on March 17, 2007.  Connie Wells suffered from severe starvation, mental and physical abuse.  Although Connie became physically healthy she had a very hard time letting go of the emotional trauma she sustained.   A decision was made to place her in a wild horse sanctuary where she could live in peace.  Connie has been placed in LB Ranch Sanctuary, FL
