September 2011

WHRC hosted the children of "Dairy Road Discovery Center". It was wonderful to meet such wonderful young people, so interested in learning about America's wild horse, the Mustang.

WHRC's Community Outreach program invites children/groups from our local community to visit us, meet the Mustangs and learn their history. Our children are the future caretakers of these special horses, we want them to learn, understand, and care about them.

Wild mustangs have had a distinct relationship with Native Americans as the 1600s -1800s is dubbed the “Indian Horse Culture” by anthropologists.

This is a unique opportunity to experience how the Wild Horse Rescue Center is attempting to save one of the greatest symbols of America’s Wild Heritage by rescuing and rehabilitating Mustangs for adoption and by educating the public about these Magnificent animals.  WHRC will be bringing wild horse Mustangs to better facilitate this learning experience.

Please RSVP to Nalena Kennett at nalena.d.kennett@boeing.com or (383-6138)

Meet Our Newest Equine Therapy Resident!

Minni--thunderThis sweet little fellow arrived at our rescue last month. He is being trained to take part in our community outreach program. Originally, we had two little minni rescues, Geri and Timi, but they proved just a wee bit too feisty. They have both been adopted by Emily.

Stop by on WHRC's Open Barn Day (Feb. 6th) and say hello to this friendly, furry, little boy.
