WHRC NEWS OCT 2011
FilmingFilmmakers from Denmark at Wild Horse Rescue Center

Mia Nielsen, Tanya Flodgraad, and Thomas Graholy of Kontinent Film are
currently filming Mustangs at WHRC. They are  making a documentary about America's wild horses.

Nielsen, a horse behavioral therapist and natural horsemanship trainer, is working with five wild Mustangs to demonstrate how wild horses behave, think, and communicate. She wants people will use this knowledge in order to create better training methods and relationships with their horses. She is also deeply concerned about the future of wild horses in America.

Diary Road Discovery CenterDairy Road Discovery Center
September 2011

WHRC hosted the children of "Dairy Road Discovery Center". It was wonderful to meet such wonderful young people, so interested in learning about America's wild horse, the Mustang.

WHRC's Community Outreach program invites children/groups from our local community to visit us, meet the Mustangs and learn their history. Our children are the future caretakers of these special horses, we want them to learn, understand, and care about them. In November WHRC will be hosting students from Astronaut High School in Titusville.

Jean and RomanJean Addison "Quiet Strength"

Jean Addison, of
"Quiet Strength", a barefoot natural trimming and hoof care service based in Scottsmoor, Fl., did a great job trimming the hooves of our Mustangs at WHRC. Jean is the owner of three rescued Mustangs and two wild Burros.

Jean
trims hooves based on the wild horse hoof model, a "Barefoot trimming that allows the hoof to wear itself according to the individual horse and is not used as a preparation trim for shoeing." She services the areas of Daytona, Orlando, Sanford, New Smyrna and down south to Melbourne.
